It’s been a very successful weekend for the Maximum Motorsport team at Rally Australia, with both Dean Herridge and John O’Dowd claiming victory in their respective categories.
Dean Herridge banked consistent times throughout the event, leading the Kennards Cup category from start to finish. That consistency paid off, as he climbed the WRC leader board throughout the event, eventually finishing 10th in WRC, 2nd Aussie home and earning a WRC championship point.
Meanwhile John O’Dowd put in a highly disciplined performance in the ARC2 title fight. Although trailing both Tony Sullens and Craig Brooks at the end of Leg 1, both of his rivals encountered problems during the difficult Leg 2 of the event, allowing O’Dowd to not only win the ARC2 title, but also to take third overall for ARC.
The Maximum crew will now pack up for the long journey home to Perth, and start preparation for the 2018 ARC season.
